This summer has been filled with many trips. I am in the middle of writing a book and traveled to New York to meet up with my friend and PR man, Tom Martin at the beginning of the summer. I even took along my older son, so that he could get a feel of the type of work I do. After work, we were able to experience many of New York’s numerous restaurants. Our favorites were The Boat House , in Central Park( great view of the park and city skyline) and the Spice Market , in the Meat Packing district ( very flavourful Asian dishes).
The next trip was back to New York but this time traveled further north of the city to Rhinebeck . Here I attended classes at an amazing school, Omega Center, for like minded individuals. I just love it there. The atmosphere is mystical and so adherent to the type of teachers that lecture there. I completed a course , The Amrit Method of Yoga Nidra and have been practising this new form of meditation for the pass four months and have found great results within myself. Looking forward to introducing this service to my clients.
My last trip for the summer of 2009, I took my mom back to her home town in Le Marche, Italy. She had not been back in six years and her sisters and brother are still around but aging. With the help of my Angels, I listened and she was able to connect with them all once again. It truly is a very small rural village that has a major road that divides the town and an old church , San Gervasio of Bulgaria. My only intention for this trip was to visit St. Francis of Assisi. Not only did we visit his church and surrounding town, but my cousins drove us to Loretto to see the Virgin Mary’s home and down to San Giovanni Rotondo, to visit the church of Padre Pio. WOW!!! I could not have planned a better spiritual trip than this. The energy at these sites were strong and welcoming. I thoroughly enjoyed praying and spending quiet time in the surrounds where these very special souls once walked and shared their love of God and the world to all.
We also ,were able to visit with family and spent many mornings walking along the sea as the hot Mediterranean sun appeared for another sweating day….which we loved ( since we did not get much of a summer back home). We also enjoying walking and shopping at many of the local town markets. Always looking out for deals and then seating down at the side street cafes to cool off and enjoy a light meal. Oh, I almost forgot to mention, that I had alot of fun trying on fun high heels Italy shoes!!! Not that I purchased them, but that i had fun trying them on!
There was one very important lesson I learned on this trip and that is for anyone renting a car in a foreign country: no matter what time you arrive to get your car, make sure you have a flash light to check the car out. Also make sure that you fully inspect all sides, windows, doors and roofs for previous damages. I say this from experience and want to educate as many people as possible to avoid any troubles.
In closing, I really did enjoy each trip. The one with my son was special because he was able to share my world. The trip back to Italy with my mom, was a great personal awakening for her. She was able to come to terms with way she left her home town at a very young age of 20 to move to new country, not even knowing the language because her man( my dad) had requested that she did. This was over 51 years ago and being happy that she did. Me too!!
Now let’s get all my kids back to school.
Living, loving and Being.
